Snowstorm Saturday, November 11, 2006 | Comments:

this day began with a snowstorm
at 5 am inside my mind
i was careening on silken slopes
and discovered a pool of red
growing slowly beside me as i lay there
wounded by the cold

drops dripped across my bed spread
onto my floor & coloured my tears

i watched the snow falling
turning into pictures & then splinters of words
that split my mind in half
you came to rescue me
but slipped on a piece of my past
that i forgot to cast away
under the carpet, out of my house
it was still there lodged in my memory
a frozen peice of time
i barely whispered..

thank you for listening so close
& dropping the snow globe
on the cold stone floor

in the fragments of glass
now i begin to see myself as whole

thank you for that warm sheet
that melted away the icicles
between us

in the heat of the night
now i can drift into a dreamless sleep
